Experience the diversity of African wildlife and culture. From the serene yet wild Kruger National Park to the bustling sidewalk cafes of Maputo in Mozambique. These 14 days are packed with discovery. Snorkeling, fishing, crystal clear seas and african architecture and cuisine are just some of the memories you will go home with.
Day One - Kruger National Park
Departing Johannesburg, our destination os the internationally famous Kruger National Park. This is Big Five country and the anticipation of encountering the majestic elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion or even leopard is unforgettable. Our first two nights are spent in one of the park's rest camps, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.
Day Three - Maputo
We cross into Mozambique and explore the capital, Maputo with its sidewalk cafes amid the colonial architecture. The market stalls sell everything from fish to curios. Our third night is spent at a nearby lodge.
Day Four to Six - Ponta Da Barra
SIghts on route are varied - inland lakes, rural villages, cashew nut plantations and brilliant blue sea. For centuries Arab and Persian traders exchanged cloth, salt and beads for slaves, ivory and gold in Inhambane Bay. A stop at Inhambane's colourful market before continuing to the long, white beaches on the peninsula of Ponta Da Barra. We stay here three nights, surrounded by coconut palms. We have two days to enjoy optional activities of snorkeling, diving or fishing. One can simply unwind, tan or swim, the choice is yours. The beauty of the location will form a lasting impression.
Day Seven - Vilanculos
An Arab Dhow boat journey along the incredible coast of Vilanculos to the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Proclaimed a national park in 1971, this protected reef supports dolphin and marine turtles.
Day Eight - Bazaruto Archipelago
Open your window, take in the view and walk down the yacht. Snorkel with the myriads of tropical fish in the warm, crystal clear waters. Walk deserted beaches and watch the sun slide into the ocean at the end of the day. We stay on one of the islands for the night.
Day Nine - Vilanculos
Passing fishermen in their small wooden boats, whose fishing methods have remained unchanged for centuries, we sail back to Vilanculos. Our time on the island has undoubtedly formed one of the highlights of your trip trough Mozambique. This is our last night on the coast.
